At Big Spoon Roasters, we’re passionate about a few things—great food, preserving our planet, and perhaps most importantly, the good people behind it all. Lucky for us, our team is full of amazing individuals that make the magic happen every day, and we can’t think of any better way to share more about them than through their favorite nut butters.
Our Fall/Winter 2024 Staff Picks Trio is curated by Bar Lead, Nick Haskin! Nick has been part of our team since July 2023 and is also our main roaster, so you can rest assured that each bar and jar that makes its way to you has been made better through Nick’s pride in his work and care for our intentionally sourced ingredients.
Nick’s Trio contains one 13oz jar, each, of the following nut butters (his words about each in italics):
Crunchy Peanut Butter
The Hubs Virginia peanuts in our Crunchy Peanut Butter deliver a crunch like no other, awesome combined with the addition of the southern delicacy, sorghum syrup from Muddy Pond in the great state of Tennessee.
Maple Cinnamon Peanut & Pecan Butter
As the main roaster, I get to work intimately with each nut, and I love the freshly roasted taste of Texas pecans used in Maple Cinnamon.
Vanilla Caramel Cashew & Almond Butter
As a true momma’s boy, I’m always looking for ways to brighten her day after all she’s done for me throughout my life—one of my favorites is gifting her a jar of Vanilla Caramel Cashew & Almond Butter. It’s got an incredible texture and the taste of melt-in-your-mouth caramel that instantly makes any stress or worries fade away.

Nick’s ultimate goal is to leave the planet better than he found it—and loves that at Big Spoon, he’s able to do that each day. When he’s not roasting or crafting bars around our HQ, you can find him out in nature, capturing the beauty of our planet with his camera.
Nick’s favorite part of working at Big Spoon is the people he works alongside each day and the amazing ingredients from likeminded producers that we utilize in each of our recipes. On roasting days here at HQ, you can usually find him reminding the rest of our production staff to “put the roast in Big Spoon Roasters!”
Nick is energetic, hardworking and wears his titles here with a badge of honor. Operations & Fulfillment Manager Kevin said, “Nick is a really passionate guy. He feels strongly about the ingredients and quality of the things we’re putting into the world and is always creatively looking at our processes and ways to improve them. He also always uplifts the team, especially on long days when that extra energy is needed.” We couldn’t agree more and are lucky to have Nick on our team!
